Langenscheidt Publishing Group, the world's leading publisher of language learning materials, seeks for its Berlitz Publishing offices in Springfield, NJ* a highly creative and dynamic full-time Editor.
This person will be responsible for realizing, with the help of freelance language writers and editors, self-study language products and dictionaries for North America and other markets.
Responsibilities include:
- Edit, develop, and prepare manuscripts for production on time and within budget
- Direct authors, writers, consultants, and reviewers on assigned products
- Work closely with design and production teams
- Liaise with marketing and sales departments to ensure products meet market needs
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's Degree in foreign languages, TESOL, or linguistics
- At least 2-3 years experience in trade or educational language publishing for foreign languages or ESL/EFL
- Teaching experience in a foreign language or ESL/EFL preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent copyediting and proofreading skills
- Ability to set priorities, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines
